About OANY          

The Opticians Alliance of New York is an independent, not for profit organization, established to promote continuing competency and betterment of the optical health professional and to provide a standard of excellence in the optical health care for the consumer.

OANY is to act as the primary resource and active advocate for its members through publications, approved continuing educational speakers and activities, networking opportunities and other professional and charitable endeavors. 

OANY is an organization of New York Licensed Ophthalmic Dispensers (Opticians), New York State Certified Contact Lens Practitioners and related professionals who deliver a full spectrum of visual services to those with optical needs. 

OANY will be the source for information about optical and visual disorders serving the optical health care provider, consumer, manufacturer and providers of optical related products and services. 

To protect the health and safety of the consumer public by New York State Licensed Ophthalmic Dispensers and New York State Certified Contact Lens Practitioners. To maintain the standards and ethics and enforce the statutes, rules and regulations governing the practice of Ophthalmic Dispensing, including the appropriate resolution of complaints in accordance with the New York State Education Department and the Office of Professional Discipline.
